How to prepare for the quant section of the SBI PO exam 2019?

For every aspirant’s concern, we should remind them that SBI PO Exam Date (Preliminary) is on 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th June 2019. The result will be declared in the first week of July 2019. The exam date of SBI PO Mains 2019 will be conducted on 20th July 2019 and the result can be expected in the third week of August 2019. In SBI PO 2019 exam, the quantitative aptitude section has always played pivotal role and has proved to be a “game changer” in the final selection of the candidates. It has intimidated every candidate because this section tests their analytical and logical abilities with set of challenging questions which demands great conceptual knowledge and prolonged calculations.   1. Simplification\Approximation: 
While solving questions based on Simplification/Approximation, the students are supposed to apply suitable concept in solving it. It will make problems easier but the procedure requires various types of calculations. Therefore, the students are advised to thoroughly master the speed of calculations to find correct answers to the asked questions in the prescribed time.
  1. Number series:
The questions based on Number Series demands lots of analysis and understanding of concepts and so they are reasonably complicated. The students should try to apply basics in solving questions and practice these questions to get perfect in it. The regular practicing of problems will help them in mastering the techniques of solving the questions.
  1. Data interpretation:
From examination point of view, it has been experienced that around 3 to 5 questions are frequently asked from this topic. The questions are generally based on bar graphs, pie charts, tabular charts etc. For solving these questions accurately and quickly, the students are supposed to learn tables as it will enable your speed of calculations. There are many questions which involve lengthy calculations which are very time-consuming, so you should master the speed of calculations.     
  1. Quadratic equations\Inequalities: 
The questions based on these topics are reasonably simple. If you master the basics conceptually then you can score well in chapters like Average, Percentages, and Profit and Loss, Interest, Ratio and Proportion. It is because questions based on these chapters are based on formulas and if you apply them correctly to find the correct answers. The students are advised to learn formulas by heart and practice them by solving questions based on them. While solving questions, you should lay emphasis on the accuracy and the speed of solving questions, as you have to solve maximum correct questions in limited time.
Thereafter, you should emphasis on other important topics like word based arithmetic problems and word problems like Permutations & Combinations, Probability, Time, Speed & Distance (including Boat & Stream) Algebra, Time & Work (including Pipes & Cisterns) – Menstruation & Geometry, Mixtures & Allegations. While examining previous year papers, it has been experienced that questions from these topics have been frequently asked, so don’t neglect them and practice them hard.
In the end, we can say that if you master the concepts thoroughly and polish your analytical and logical skills in solving questions, you can master this section properly with success. You should note carefully that it’s not important to solve all questions but to solve questions which can be accurately solved by you, as wrong answers will result in negative marking.
