What is the best way to prepare for General Awareness for BANK Mains exams?

Banking sector competitive job exams like IBPS PO, SBI PO, RBI ASSISTANT, IBPS CLERK, SBI CLERK, etc, have General Awareness Section where questions are asked on Current Affairs and General Knowledge. This section is now a part of Mains Exams of Banking sector. Those who have cracked preliminary exam of IBPS PO or SBI PO 2017 need to focus on four subjects namely, English, Reasoning, Mathematics and General Awareness.

  2. Read Magazines methodically
  3. Watch News Channels daily
  4. Plan your Preparation adequately
  5. Utilize Internet Resources
  6. Participate in Online Quizzes by joining any good portal providing it on regular basis.
Areas from which General Awareness questions are generally asked are:
  1. Banking facilities and Terminology
Questions are based on commonly used facilities and terms like savings and current accounts, term deposits, non-performing assets etc
  1. Latest news on Economic and Corporate Sector:
These questions are given to test your general awareness with respect to the economic progress and development in combination with finance and political aspects. Therefore questions can be asked on:
  1. Reserve Bank of India
  2. Financial progress – financial progress of major corporate, especially public banks.
  • Recent Mergers & Acquisitions, Takeovers, Buyouts, Joint Ventures, Government Policy Announcement
  1. Various Government Schemes and Constitutional Bodies
Questions from this topic are generally related to schemes initiated in the past 2-3 years, schemes currently in the news and schemes that have just been announced.
  1. Questions on Marketing Terms
Questions will be asked on marketing terms such as telemarketing, cross-selling etc.
  1. Static G.K
Questions based on purely general knowledge part of the segment. It has static GK i.e. GK that remains constant for long time.
