Will SBI PO 2018 Come or Not?

State Bank of India is one of the largest banking organizations with many branches all over India and overseas. SBI has merged with six banks w.e.f. April 2017, namely,
  1. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ),
  2. State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH),
  3. State Bank of Mysore (SBM),
  4. State Bank of Patiala (SBP) ,
  5. State Bank of Travancore (SBT) and
  6. Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB).
Due to this merger there lie fewer chances of vacancies for Assistants in the year 2018. There will be a notification in the year 2018 but with less number of vacancies as compared to the previous notifications. It is very difficult to predict the exact number of vacancies but one can expect it in the range of 1800 to 3000. This estimation is done on the basis of the trend followed by SBI in the previous years, such as;

S.No Notification Year No. Of Vacancies’
1 SBI PO RECRUITMENT 2013 1500
2 SBI PO RECRUITMENT 2014 1837
4 SBI PO RECRUITMENT 2015 2200
5 SBI PO RECRUITMENT 2016 2200
6 SBI PO RECRUITMENT 2017 2313

Refer to the recent merger of associate banks of SBI, it is quite evident that it is reducing the number of branches therefore the demand for the workforce will be less in the future. Indian Banking system is going digital gradually there has been lot of government schemes and promotions which demands online transactions rather than manual. This is also the reason for the delay in the vacancies notification of 2018, which is expected in the latter half of the year 2018.

Let us hope for the best from SBI in the year 2018 in respect of SBI PO 2018 vacancies. Do not leave your preparation for the same and work according to the previous year cut – off.
Wishing you all the best for future!!!!
